StemToxicity: An ingredient of fish poison made by the French Guiana Galibi.

Range. Southern Asia, Australia, tropical Africa, south to Natal; introduced in tropi­cal America. In Myanmar, found in Bago, Magway, Mandalay, Sagaing, and Yangon.

Uses

Whole plant: Used as an anthelmintic and antipyretic.

Origin

All over India; also grown as green manure and as cover crop.

Action:

The drug is considered specific for the treatment of inflammation of spleen and liver (is known as Plihaa-shatru, Plihaari in Indian medicine).
